Q. Thesis Printing and Binding Service
Answer
The library does play a part in thesis and dissertation preparation and preservation, but the initial steps are coordinated by the Office of Graduate Education. OGE coordinates the printing of theses and dissertations and also transmits the items to ProQuest for ingestion into their Dissertations and Theses database and creation of a microfiche copy of each work. They then give the paper copies and the microfiche to the library for long-term storage and preservation. The paper dissertations are bound by our bindery vendor and the master's theses are placed into archival folders for preservation. Both are then placed in the university Archives, which resides in the library. The microfiche copies are stored in a separate microfiche cabinet.
If you have questions about the initial formatting and printing of your thesis, I would speak with Nancy Annunziato in the Office of Graduate Education, or your advisor. Nancy can be reached at 215-596-8886 or a.annunziato@usciences.edu
Thank you for your inquiry, and let us know if you have any additional questions.
