Q. Can authors/editors update a clinical trial manuscript after it has been "epublished ahead of print" and before it is finally published in print?
The online article is almost always the same as the one that is eventually published on paper ('in print')--the only difference should be the way the article is published. I would not expect there to be any added data or tables in the paper version, unless something was accidentally left out and they found the problem in time to change it. To check for corrections, find the article (or its abstract) at the journal website. If there have been any corrections, the journal should post a note giving information about the correction.
