Q. How should images I gathered online be referenced in a PowerPoint slide in NLM's Citing Medicine style?

I am working on a power point and I included images on the slides. My question is how should I reference these images on the slide itself? I have a separate reference page, but I feel it would be necessary to reference the image on the actual slide containing the image.

Examples of the websites that provide the image include: http://umm.edu/programs/ibd/services/conditions/crohns

Images should be cited as “parts of websites”.

The good news is that citing “parts of websites” is the same process that was demonstrated by a librarian in your PP190 Pharmacy Orientation class, during the information literacy session. If you’d like to review documents from that session, including the PowerPoint we used, all can be found HERE.

Also, you can find detailed instructions with examples for citing parts of websites in “Chapter 25, Web Sites” in the style guide “Citing Medicine, 2nd edition”. This guide can be found by going to the library homepage, then to How to Write a Reference (under Help Files), then looking beneath the NLM example. However please note that authors typically put their image citations directly beneath the image rather than in their bibliography, so you’ll want to do likewise with the citations you create.
