Q. Do we have access to books in the Wiley online database? I know we have journal access , but books are not opening.

When I search for resources by topic in the Wiley database, books and journals are offered as results. Usually, there would be a picture of either a locked or unlocked padlock next to the search result, but there isn't an icon next to the links to books. I have no trouble opening the journals; however, the site requests login credentials in order to access the pdf files of book chapters. I was just wondering if we have any access to books in this database.

Hello Jade.

You are right in interpreting the icons in Wiley.  While the library subscribes to a large collection (but not all) of Wiley journals, we do not subscribe to any books other than the reference work Kirk-Othmer's Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology."

While searching in the publisher's online web site is one way of finding information on a topic, since we do subscribe to so many other publisher's journals, using a database such as PubMed, allows you to find many more of our subscribed journals.

Since you are a pharmacy student, we do provide access to a number of pharmacy textbooks and resources and you can find those, along with links to PubMed and other databases, on our website under 'Find' 'Resources in your major' in the middle of our web page.
