Q. Does the library have access to UpToDate?

Answer

Sorry -- We have investigated the possibility of subscribing to UpToDate, but thus far institutional pricing has been prohibitive. We are considering a comparable database called DynaMed; if we introduce this, we will alert the campus.

If you are looking for comparable Evidence-Based Medicine resources, check out the Cohrane Library. You can find this in our Databases A-Z list (http://guides.library.usciences.edu/AtoZ), or in our Medicine and EBM research Guide (http://guides.library.usciences.edu/MedicineAndEBM) (Note that the resulting display has two tabs, one for Medicine and one for Evidence-Based Medicine).

FYI, as an alternative that may work for some users, I see that students are qualified for a 30-day subscription to UpToDate for $19, with correspondingly priced subscriptions for one or two years.

We do appreciate your suggestions and consider them when developing our collections. If you feel strongly that UpToDate would benefit your program of study, please consider passing that suggestion along to your professors, to your program director, or to the dean of your college.
