Q. We are seeking the Allen Cognitive Level Screen (ACLS) in the Mental Measurements Yearbook, but cannot find it in there.

Answer

As my colleague mentioned, we use the Tests in Print index to locate measurements within Mental Measurements.  Since Tests in Print covers all measurements regardless of year, we only need to use the most current volume to locate a measurement.  But, as we found, the ACLS is not in these volumes.  We agree that, for the purpose of your research, it is important to discuss this in your assignment: the fact that the ACLS has not met Mental Measurements' criteria of inclusion.

So, since we can't find a discussion of the ACLS in these sources, the next step we can recommend is to search for discussions of it in scholarly journals.  We think the best databases to use are CINAHL (aka, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) and PsycINFO, both of which can be found in the Database A-Z list on the library website.  Both databases are found in the EBSCOhost database, and can be searched separately or at the same time.  When searching, you might try searching "Allen Cognitive Level Screen" and "Allen Cognitive Level Test" (taking care to retain the quotation marks in both cases) and to experiment with the filters found to the right such as TX All TextTI Title and especially AB Abstract.  Keep in mind that you can run these as two separate searches, or you can do a combined search by changing the "joiner" from AND to OR.

These search result pools may offer some useful articles.
