Q. I'm on rotation and I need to get a book chapter that the library does not own.

I'm a 6th year pharmacy student currently on rotations. My rotation site has requested that I try to get a hold of chapter from a certain book: Miloro M (Ed). Peterson's Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Second Edition Volume 1. Decker BC Incorporated. June 30, 2004. I don't think it is available through the USP library so I was wondering if there was any other way of obtaining this book? Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Answer

Normally I would suggest that you use a service (via the library's home page) called EZ-Borrow. However, the only library in the EZ-Borrow system that has this item will not lend it to us (it is on reserve at that library). As such, to request this item you need to use Illiad (to make things easier here is the link: http://illiad.usp.edu/illiad/logon.html).

Go ahead and register (if you have not done so); if you have already registered, double-check to make sure your status is "student on rotation”. Request the chapter you need and, in the notes field, mention that you already tried EZ-Borrow for this item but no libraries that have this item will lend it.
