Q

I was unable to access the diabetes chapter in the Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment book.

I was attempting to access the diabetes chapter, and when I clicked onto the link to the chapter, I was directed to a page that prompted me to pay for access.

Answer

The book in question has a concurrent-user limitations of 1 user at a time, so it is likely that someone else was using it when you tried to get in.  All Access Medicine and StatRef titles have concurrent limits, as do the Ovid EBM databases.

Some of our textbooks have concurrency limitations, which is why faculty should not rely on them for an assignment that exclusively uses the resource.
