Do the librarians (or anyone affiliated with the Usciences library) know when the library will have a copy of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)-V (published May 2013)? Also, will an electronic version be available to students?
The DSM-V was just published this month (May 2013), and because it has made significant reclassifications of numerous disorders pertaining to mental health, one of which affects research that I will be conducting over the summer and fall semesters, I will need the most recent version of this text (ie, the DSM-V). I am a student of an online program but can visit the Usciences library if absolutely necessary. An electronic version, however, would be convenient for reference purposes.

Answer

Hello Gianna,

The library subscribes to an online version of the DSM IV TR through a third party, Stat!Ref.  I have sent an email to them inquiring when they anticipate having it on line.  We also bought a print copy in 2000. With an electronic version available,  I don't know if we are planning to do so again.

I will get back to you when I hear from our online publisher and find out about the print version.

Coordinator of Electronic Resources
