Q

Where would I find the package insert for a medical device? Is there a PDR-type publication for this purpose? Thank you.

Answer

Hello Mary,

The library does not have a package insert information book as you describe, and the librarians are not aware of such a publication.  While Elsevier's "Silver Sheet" does address issues related to medical devices, it does not collect the information in the way you describe.  We recommend either searching the FDA's MedWatch website for adverse events, contacting the FDA directly, or, if a manufacturer is known, contacting the manufacturer directly.
