Ask a Librarian

Useful Tip: As you type, you may see some suggested answers. If you don't see anything helpful, click 'Ask Us' and then fill out the question form on the next page to email your question to a librarian.

I need a book that you do not have, and I need it today!

The librarian told me that I can get the book from E-ZBorrow, but I can't wait. What can I do?

You may be able to access the book at another library in the area. See this page for general guidance for our students who want to visit another library:

You can search the collections of many local libraries, including the University of Pennsylvania Libraries, by searching Worldcat at can enter your zip code to filter search results by location. Entering USciences' zip code, 19104, will show you the closest locations that have the book.  If you see Van Pelt Library at University of Pennsylvania, then you could be in luck. This library is located close to USciences, at 34th and Locust Walk.

UPenn allows members of the public to visit Van Pelt Library on weekdays. I recommend that you check their website for details, or call ahead to let them know you are coming. Their library has a variety of copiers and scanners, just like J.W. England Library.
