Biosis and Embase
I think you’re referring to Biosis, an online product which, according to Thomson, the producer, are "research databases [that] provide you with today's most current sources of life sciences information, including journals, conferences, patents, books, review articles, and more. You can access multidisciplinary coverage via specialized indexing such as MeSH disease terms, CAS registry numbers, Sequence Databank Numbers and Major Concepts." We get the Biological Abstracts (indexing and abstracting journals) part of the Biosis database back to 1997. It can be accessed from the "Databases A-Z" link on the library's Web page. Embase is sort of the European equivalent of Medline in PubMed. There is some veterinary information in PubMed.
We also have a drug pipeline database called R&D Insight that, I think, includes veterinary products. Let us know if you are interested in that.
